Initial Activation of 2FA

Please note: The first activation of the 2nd factor must take place within 7 days after activation of the account, otherwise login is no longer possible!

The following steps describe the initial activation of a 2nd factor at TU Graz if you do not want to use the ID Austria - Attention: The ID Austria cannot be used for VPN!

Prerequisite

  • Members of TU Graz (employees, students & alumni)
    You can find your registration code in the "tile" Account Status in TUGRAZonline

  • External persons:
    You will get your initial registration code (= one-time password) sent to your verified email address.

Token

Now decide which token (please activate at least 2!) you want to activate first and install the software or buy the hardware.

Once you have received your initial registration code and the token software is installed, here is how to register:

Hardware token

If you have decided to use a hardware token, you have to register it for your account at the ZID Service Point (Stremayrgasse 16/GF).
